Tour is for the birds, Earth Month
From VCNC Staff Reports
Students will gather at the Ventura College quad at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, for a 50-minute nature walk and bird tour. The tour, led by VC instructor Raeann Koerner, is free and open to all; English V04 students will give a short presentation before the tour begins. It will end at the AA Building (Agriculture).
The experience is an opportunity to observe nature without Ventura’s surrounding distraction, English student Sebastian Cole said.
“The environment is growing more delicate every day,” Cole said, “so we urge you to show support for the beauty that might disappear before you know it.”
Koerner has been a full-time health and physical education instructor for 26 years and is an active birder. She belongs to the Ventura Audubon Society, the American Birding Association and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology.
Ventura College is hosting several Earth Month events during April, including poetry performances, a college cleanup and an Earth Action Day.
